Shelby Jackson Reeder
is the lead eligibility caseworker for Family and Children
Medicaid at the Department of Social Services in Greensboro,
NC. Her duties include mentoring new trainees in
the unit and determining special needs cases. Mrs. Reeder processes Breast
and Cervical Cancer patient
needs and is
responsible for maintaining quality control for her unit. Serving Guilford County as an
Outreach Representative, Shelby Reeder does
presentations in both public and private schools, as
well as, in community centers and churches.
After graduating from Eastern Wayne High School, Shelby Reeder
attended North Carolina Central University in Durham and later
matriculated to North Carolina Agricultural & Technical
University in Greensboro. Mrs. Reeder continues to do further studies
in business and leadership.
Mrs. Reeder began her career working
for First-Citizen’s Bank in Goldsboro, NC.
Later while working at Greensboro National Bank, she was
named Business Woman of the Year for
the City of Greensboro, NC. She presently serves as a senior consultant for Joint
Logistics Managers, Inc. and travels extensively with the
corporation insuring its efficiency and success. Mrs. Reeder’s
motto is “Just as good or
better”.
Mrs. Reeder served as a missionary in Caracas,Venezuela with the Seventh-day Adventist Church. While there,
she also assisted in a workshop exclusive for women. Mrs. Reeder
is a chaperone and mentor for teens in Cross- Country Bus
Tours. She also served or continues to serve the Seventh-day
Adventist Church as Clerk, a member of the Sanctuary Choir,
Youth leader, and usher director. She has served the entire
state as vice-president of North Carolina Youth Federation.
As a member of the Executive Committee, Mrs.
Reeder has served the South Atlantic
Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. This organization serves North Carolina,
South Carolina and Georgia.
Mrs. Reeder believes in the good in all people
and
cares how people are affected. Constantly, she
looks for new ways to assist others. Mrs. Reeder remembers the
“way it used to be” when she was growing up in eastern North
Carolina. She feels a deep connection to the
Parkstown Community located there.
Mrs. Reeder focuses on the Relieve a Child program of JPC
Foundation. As president, she searches the southeastern region
of Wayne County while keeping her ears tuned to other needs
throughout the state. Just recently, she secured a permanent
headquarters for the foundation and is constantly upgrading and
improving the Old Mill Cemetery project. She just founded the
New Parkstown Community Development
Club. Through this program, Mrs. Reeder hopes to get the entire
neighborhood involved in preserving their home. Some of her

Shelby Reeder enjoys traveling, cooking, and
singing. She lives in Greensboro with her husband, Al. She
visits the Parkstown Community often
to ensure the preservation of its history, culture, and
integrity.
